I need voice actors and actresses. If you think you are capable of doing a voice in my movie then I need you to send me a sample of your skills. I'm not looking for a show reel or anything *update: STOP SENDING SHOWREELS!!!!* I just want to hear you talking into a microphone. It doesn't need to be professionally recorded, I just need to get an idea of what you can do. Talk about anything, read from a film script if you must, I just want to hear your voice in character. Here is what I am on the lookout for:
- Male - Authoritative, British
- Male - Eccentric, British/European
- Female - Variety of styles, British / European / Asian
- Male - Variety of styles, British, European, Asian
These are just basic guidelines though, feel free to throw anything else in there if you think it might grab me.
Please send your voice samples to doki67@gmail.com with the subject heading MEADOW MAN VOICES. Please send only mp3s and nothing over 5mb. NO WAVS! Also could I request that you please include your name in the file name so that they're easier to sort.
INCENTIVE: If I do end up employing you as voice actor then you will be paid for your efforts.
DEADLINE: 1st AUGUST 2009.
I would love to do this...
ReplyDeleteBut my current mic is broken...
I'll have to go over to a friends house and record you a sample...
also...
are those the only styles you'll need?
Because I'm 14 and can do a young child to young adults (5-21) voice quite well...
How does Australian sound? Not super Australian or anything but... Yes. I'm Australian.
ReplyDeleteI may be American, but i can do the following accents convincingly:
ReplyDeleteRussian, British, Chinese/Japanese, Spanish/Mexican, French, Austrian, Australian, Polynesian, South African, Arabic and Indian (Hindu)
Ill record some mp3s for ya in the next few days!
Well i've got a fantastic voice but no microphone. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm french and my accent is pretty strong... need it ? I don't think my voice has much personnality except for my accent :)
ReplyDeleteI'M RECORDING AT THE MOMENT... Mail you shortly!! Have done voice over work in the past!!
ReplyDeleteWould "British" in this case include Scottish, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteI'm quite interested in auditioning. However, do we need to live in the UK? Or is it all going to be done online?
ReplyDeleteI guess I should give it a try.
ReplyDeleteWill email you as soon as it`s recorded.
You should ask your colleague Jonti Picking aka Weebl. He has done some very funny voices in his animations and he could fit great in Meadow Man.
ReplyDeleteI have a variety of voices at my disposal. I'll try to get you an MP3 this coming weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy mic's aren't working for some reason, but I'll figure that out and give this a try!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteif you like my voice it would be great
ReplyDeleteI can do british, scottish, asian, russian, jamaican and many other voices
OOoh! I have been looking for something like this. A mail will soon be sent.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever need a little girl, I could help ya out there. I'll see about sending you something. :)
ReplyDeleteUnless you need an indiferent/apathic European Portuguese trying to sound British though not as bad as if he was Brazillian and/or ex-Chelsea's Portuguese coach, José Mourinho, I don't really think I would be of much use, albeit being VERY interested in contributing to practically anything concerning works by you.
ReplyDeletehow about serbian i speak english but whit a terrible accent u can see evrything in my grrramar
ReplyDeleteToday's my birthday.
ReplyDeleteI do a russian, retard, black guy, slurry speech dumbass, gay guy, asian guy, etc.

http://www.fugly.com/audio/search.php?keyword=not+so+sharp&cat=audiodir
I got lots more audio
If, during the project, you think you could use a Canadian male voice ...let me know. Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteAnother Canadian male here. I'll do anything to partake in a David Firth creation.
ReplyDeletei could do this. no problem.
ReplyDeletehttp://alienredwolf.com/The-Meadow-Man-Daniel-Fowler-Audition.mp3 Hey guys, this is my shot at some voice work for The Meadow Man.
ReplyDeleteWhaddya think?
alienredwolf takes it home. kudos mate!
ReplyDeletegerman with no accent here, although i could probably imitate a 'german speakin english'-accent pretty well.. but no bavarian.. oh well, whatever.
hope you're successful with this, mr. firth! :)
I think alienredwolf pulled it brilliantly. Still, I have no idea of the quality in any other thing David may have received, so... let's just wait for the results.
ReplyDeleteI've been acting in film and stage for 15 years (some of my work can be found here: www.myspace.com/m1chaelreed), and I've been a fan of Fatpie and all it's glory for many years now. I would kill to be a voice for one of your productions. I am American, but I can pull of a pretty authentic brit accent...can any of your characters be straight-up American? Just wondering. Anyway. I'll shoot you a voice sample. How exciting!!
ReplyDeleteSent a demo to your email address and it bounced. My email is richfallis_kayser@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMR Firth! I would love to do this, but I'm not british, european or asian :(
ReplyDeleteI wonder it you'd be interested or not in a southamerican attempt of english. It might be fun.
Cheers.
Hello there, mate, wha` cha` doin` besides searchin` fo` a voice :)). Hey, pick me, pick me, make me a star :)).
ReplyDeleteI`m not subscribing to be selected anyway...I just wanted to have a lil... imaginary chat with ya :)) and tell you that i love your cartoons.
Well, my name is Bianca, I am from Romania. Have you heard about Romania? It`s in Europe... ummm, I am not implying that you are not intteligent `cuz you really are :D . Oh, bugger, I tend to screw up things :)), I beg your pardon : I tend to beep up things :)).
Now about the accents... I shoud probably possess a latin one, considering that countries like Spain, France, Romania, Portugual, ITALLY communicate through a latin language. But ummm... not quite :)) I can also imitate a funny rusian accent and a not so good british one :( although I love it.
Now please, please tell me: how long will it take until it will appear, I`m pretty excited. :D
Can`t wait to watch it.
Cheers, mate.
i have a mic but the quality is utter shit. if this whole thing is done over the internet then there's not a chance in hell for me XD
ReplyDeletealienredwolf has done a brilliant job, though. let's see where this all turns out, shall we?
Do you have to meet in person to do the script? Because I am 12, almost 13, and I can do some weird voices, such as:
ReplyDeleteA dog, monkey, pixie, alien/martian, robot, the Grudge, creepy scream, slow-motion, Barry Gibb, old man, snake, Mickey Mouse, a mad scientist (laugh), evil laugh, Hawaiian surfer, teenager, cocking shotgun, and something of a British accent.
I can't personally do accents, but I have several friends that can. One of them is particularly brilliant; he can do Russian, French, German, and probably any other European accent. Unfortunately, he's going off to college soon, so I don't know if he could.
ReplyDeleteEllo i have a youtube account called Gertilish, i have a few dubs on there. So yea, you might think i'd suit one of the parts. =]
ReplyDeleteThe lupin voice might be good for the excentric male. (harry potter dubs)
ReplyDeleteCompiling and sending.
ReplyDeletelol @ the young'uns. At least they're having a go...
Take care, friend.
Jae-
Is there a cut off date or are you just going to post when you have everyone?
ReplyDeleteI could do any accent, but it seems that alot of people are sending stuff in so i don't think i will D:
ReplyDeleteWhen I read "Call for voice" I got all excited and then I saw the word "Talent" after it and got bummed out.
ReplyDeleteDamn, my mike has been broken for a year or so, but I'll find a way to record. And screw payment, I'd pay to be in a Firth production :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteI'm Dutch and speak flawless English, but I can probably give it a messed up Dutch accent if that fits.
i love your work- I've been a fan for a while!
ReplyDeletewww.reason8.net
click on *sound* lsten specifically to *mpr aac* This is a new spoken word piece I'm workin on- to which I am, coincidentally - looking to animate!
I have my hands full with the graphics stuff (Reason8) as it pays the rent- but I am also workin on an hour long spoken word show to launch late summer. I'll also be going on the radio (WBZ Radio, The Jordan Risn Show)and reading live- in a month or so. Here's another (very raw video shoot :(
google "imperfect mouthfool" by amazical
oops- I meant: "The Jordan Rich Show". Btw- Jordan also has a phenomenal voice (though not a Brit, I'm sure he could fake it- as he does voice work for a living). I can be reached at david@reason8.net
ReplyDeleteI've just ordered a new mic. I'll record something when I get it. Though I'm American. I'll do a variety of accents, though.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr.Firth I would love to be a character in your wonderful new show I am bilingual {Spanish and English} Although I come from Dominican Republic I can speak fluid English and I can fake A great BRITISH accent Ill send you a clip as soon as I possible can.
ReplyDeleteHey ho David Firth! It's been a while.
ReplyDeleteRight, I'm English and have been accused of being "posh" in the last week or so. So what kind of British accent are you thinking of - an accent like northern, liverpudlian, cockney, or just plain old Queen's English?
My mic has broken, but I shall try and get some recordings over to you soon.
Cheers
I will be sure to do this :). Voice acting is like a dream job for me
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteAha! I'm finally talented enough to give this one a try!
ReplyDeleteOhlrightie then. I dunno much about paying me... I... would not be good at this "being in europe" thing that would seem... required. So... maybae I should just go ahead and forget it.... Especially with all these dots.
............... oh god the dots are everywhere............
Anyway, I suppose I could whip something up in case you need anything. That'd be purdy neat, Mr. Foyth.
Peaces,
-M.
What about pidgin speak? (hawaiian accent)
ReplyDeleteGimmie a week, when I get back in taaan I'll send u a load of samples. I can do pretty much any voice/impersonation I want. Oh, and Im punctual, a great team player, confident with microsoft excel and have lots of hobbies, including fine wine, film noir and walks along the coast. I'm 26, which aint that young, although certainly young enough to get breastfed. That is normal isnt it? Thought so.
ReplyDeleteI sent a recording already under the name Sam Foster, but I also do a bit of flash animation which i also do the voices for and they are a little more rehersed. Theres english accents on the flash movie entitled "frank furter" www.oddball-studios.co.uk

ReplyDeleteowallis1@googlemail.com
Well, like the first user post, I am also 14, but have a various range of capabilities, due to a very manipulative voice, and by the look of the nubmer of posts, you may have your cast already, but if there's still any part you need, message me
ReplyDelete-MrBucket001@aol.com
P.S.- Update with further notice as to who you have already casted on this page.
Another hopeful, just sent off my tape there. Very excited about the prospect of taking part. Also just noticed this cartoon will be feature length! Just to let you know if I did get a part I'd be committed for as long as it takes to get it finished.
ReplyDeletesounds incredible. if i find my microphone i may send you off a few snippets.
ReplyDeleteHow about a gay Mongolian?
ReplyDeleteAnyone else not get a reply from David after sending an audition?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletei would love to star in this, i have been acting for a while, and i can do a variety of accents, i am british and my friends say i am a good impresionist, i can also make my voice sound younger possibly older. i dont have a mic but i will post a few snips to you as soon as i can.

I'm still a kid, but I can do a lot of voices. weird voices, asian and chinese, i can do practically any accent!!!!! i can imitate people's voices from films and i can do adult voices and low voices too!!!!
ReplyDeleteFuck all these motherfuckers, lol, I've been watching fatpie episodes for years and I can do hundreds of voices.. I do them all the time randomly.
ReplyDeleteI'm a rapper, I've been involved with acting, I have a full home-studio that I produce and record in. I have a compressor, 400$ mic, mackie interface, and adobe audition.
I can play whatever role you wish.
www.myspace.com/kizzlethekonqueror is my music page, but this type of thing is something I've always wanted to do... especially flash animation stuff, but I have no experience with that so I've held back.
Just kidding about fucking these motherfuckers... eh kinda.. lol
This is awesome. I'd love to send it some voice lines. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI haven't replied to anyone yet. I don't have time to reply to everyone, but if I am interested I will let you know......eventually.
ReplyDeleteIt would've been great if you were accepting Canadians...
ReplyDeleteLooking for a break from Graphic Design
Eager to see the result at least :)
Why don't I post another pointless comment that is clearly of no consequence?
ReplyDeleteVery interested in this Dave! Think it will be a good laugh to.
ReplyDeleteGot a good, strong British, well spoken voice (I'm 18), if you're interested.
I have a sore throat right now, but if it's better in the next few days, hopefully I can help you out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, definitely keen to get on board in some way...
ReplyDeleteMyself and the other Microrave artists would be very keen to compose the soundtrack... We cover all styles of electronic music, but specialise in dark and atmospheric music. Future releases by Third Mountain resemble Monolake, Voltergeist produces minimal dubby techno like Deadbeat, and of course Frogpocket who is the Scottish version of Aphex Twin with a fiddle! Which I believe would be right up your street!
And of course, lots of voice over work!
Shaun Microrave
http://www.myspace.com/microraverecords
I'm going to tape some things tomorrow for you to check out. I can pull off British and French accents. It's worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteI really like 'Crooked Rot' - has kind of an 'Evil Dead'/'Trap Door'- esque feel to it...camera work is good too. Horror and animation always make for a quality combination.
ReplyDeleteIf you like any of my voicereel clips Dave, get in touch as I would be keen to work on any of your projects! John (schoolyears)
sounds intersting, i shall start recording when i get home
ReplyDelete'allo Foif!
ReplyDeleteI'm tres interested in doing zis. I'm 19 years old, hailing from Dudley, but currently living in Canterbury, studying French and Italian at uni. (A good start for accents eh?)
My friends have been urging me to give it a go, as they say I'm damn good at accents / impressions (esp, of your sublime work, dear fellow)/ general tomfoolery / hocus-pocus / jiggery-pokery, and so on, so forth.
I think the fact I have bipolar disorder adds a tinge of authenticity to whatever insanity I conjure up / pull out of my ass.
I'm genuinely obsessed with the macabre, distasteful and downright surreal.
Hopefully I am not already too late to send you my shizzle. That would be a catastrophe of epic proportion.
Bastarding shite, I've got a train to catch in half an hour...
I'll mail you!
Just in case you're interested, my address is bengeorge242@hotmail.com
does it matter if I live in Brazil ? =D

ReplyDeleteideally a bingo hall.

ReplyDeleteBTW - I would like to give you some ideas if you are interested... I look forward to our cooperation!

ReplyDelete"If you are interested in hearing what i can do e-mail me at XXXX"
ReplyDeleteDo people not bother to read what you put and just blindly write any old crap down in the hopes that you may have the time and inclination to dedicate effort to people who may not even have the ability to speak let alone have the panache to create a voice suitable for your porject?
I can do lots of voices, although my mic is not high quality. I can probably do the Eccentric European voice, maybe the authoritative British male, and surely some of the various voices. I'll post another comment with an audio sample if I can
ReplyDeleteI think I've got some voices that are right up your street. Subtley ott.

No American characters? D:
ReplyDeleteIs it too late to send something in?
ReplyDeleteThis is a shame. Ive been told I have a great voice and I would have loved to be able to work on something like this. However, I'm Australian. I could do a British accent but I'm sure you'd rather actual British people.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever change your mind though, you can reach me at Skull-Fire@live.com for e-mail or MSN.
Hey, maybe it would do good to have a few non-British characters.

ReplyDeleteWHEN'S THE DEADLINE for this? hopefully I'm not too late, I'll send you a few voices regardless, hopefully one catches your ear.
ReplyDeleteI will be sending you a few conversational peices shortly :D Love your work and have been following you since you started on NG!
ReplyDeleteI can do an authentic southern United States accent, other than that I'm useless.
ReplyDeleteI can do a poor facsimile of the listed accents.
I'm a silly yank from the south, but I'm still quite interested in this. I will probably send in an audition at some point before the deadline, if only to say that I've done so.
ReplyDeleteSubmitted! I'm an aspiring voice actor, and this is oh so exciting. Hope you like my voices.
ReplyDeleteHello sir I am interested in applying for this opportunity! I possess no recording equipment so am unable to submit a recording. I'm not European or Asian so can't do the accents requested. I'm technically neither male nor female, either, but that's just a minor detail, I'm sure. Also I am unable to speak due to a deformity of the larynx. Let me know when you are ready to hire me.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm 11, and I am from Seattle. I watched all of the "Salad Fingers" on Weebls.com, and really liked them. I have no accent naturally, but can do a pretty good brittish accent. My email is: GallacciGirl@gmail.com. Please email me and tell me if I would be a possible voice talent canadate!
ReplyDeleteHey!! My names Lilla, I'm 19, from New York state. I can do a whole bunch of voices, including asian (if you've ever seen Mad TV, think Miss Swan)
ReplyDeleteIf you would like to contact me, my youtube account is xmrsxmansonx

I would love to voice in this, are you still looking for roles? I am r8 britich.
ReplyDeleteNeed a Zulu/Afrikaans/S- African/Norwegian sounding guy?
ReplyDeleteI thought as much...
'Authoritative, British' is rather my forte, if you're still receptive. In any event, I've sent you a recording; feel free to ignore it (or not) at your leisure.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
- R.
Scandinavian guy is up for some recording if you are still looking for actors. I've got some theatre training, a good mic+soundcard and love your work.

I would love to do that.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty eccentric anyway.
Oh, bloody hell, The male's got to be ecentric. Well, I'm British anyway. And I'm pretty good at voices.
ReplyDeletePretty good at acting really, though I'm abit of a twat.
i like rusty spoons very much and it would be a pleasure to voice... british accent, russian, japanese
ReplyDeleteI can do numerous voices and cartoon characters as well as organic and non-organic sounds (i.e. door open, engine thrust/throttle, race cars, clicking (18 various), robot/computer noises, fans, air/storm/water drops, multi-national dialects (i.e. Australian, British, English (US-EN & UK-ENG) Spanish (Gangster, Loser/Lonely), Asian (Indian, China, Japanese), and many other items as requested I can normally perform them.
ReplyDeleteI live currently in Hollywood, CA and available most of the time and would love to help without pay just credit for anything used as I am a very big fan for many years.
Thanks,
Lance
hey.
ReplyDeletei really hope i'm not too late.
i'm a musician / actress, but i'm mainly a singer; but because of my musical background, i have a good ear for accents and mimicry. I've been told that, out of all my imitations, my best are salad fingers, 'Mable' from the episode "picnic", and Lois & Cleveland from family guy, but i do other voices as well.
i'm an 18 year old Australian girl, but i was born in Scotland, have a friend who grew up in Yorkshire (who i imitate) and i do British accents pretty well. accents i don't already know, i pick up quickly. i speak a fair bit of German fluently. i am an arts fag. i don't care so much about the money, unless i'd have to fly over; but if i can record in Australia and send you recordings, then i don't need big money. um just a little more background info on my personality; i have asperger's and was a loner freak in my younger days, (i apparently seem normal now), i am also bi-polar (runs in the family) and am on crazy pills for it. yes im in control, but i now how to be psychotic or just eccentric. um....i'm nocturnal...when i dont have to be somewhere in the daylight. my normal speaking voice is low (for a female) and can be a bit husky if i feel like it, but i can also do really high whiney bimbo voices and little girl voices because i also trained in opera for a while. hell, i could send you a bloody résumé... oh, and obviously i'm a fan. duh. and i have always had a soft spot for the men from up the stairs. doo de doo... i forgot what i was going to write. and i know i could just backspace all that, but then where'd the personality go? um yeah, so i hope i'm not too late. thank you for your time. i am a freak.
fare the well
Rhiannon Rachel aka Nonny (not that, that was necessary)
toodle-oooh ol' chap
I am 14 and am Australian but I have a convincing enough older voice (I got it the same was as Alison Mosshart got her Dead Weather Voice wink wink nudge nudge), I can do the following accents convincingly:
ReplyDeleteRussian, Chav, Londoner(generalised), and some sort of hybrid working class pom accent... yorkshire? whatever. these things i learned from a russian junkie and my bermingham pommy mother, so...
I'll send my clip :D
Thanks for sharing nice post! Keep on sharing mate!

ReplyDeleteAll I can say is..WOW..Dr. Todd was through with my reading, and just like everyone says, he tells the truth, and he started off telling me something that I didn't think he would know. He told me things that only I would know and he recommend some things in order to make my life easier..and I appreciate it that as well as gaining some insighful advice that I will soon follow. I also was amazed on his ability to focus on matters that one would never really pay attention. All I can say is Dr. Todd is the real deal and he has made me a beliver and a client for life! ReplyDeletePinpointing the right voice-over talent is very important regardless of project that you would like them for voice over. But the process that's faced by a lot of people is how they are able to begin the process in order to successfully hire the right voice-over.
ReplyDelete
